The Food Ministries at Morton Memorial UMC is a food bank that serves 12,000 lbs of food to about 100 families in the community every second Saturday of the month. They recently said this about their ministry:
“Food insecurity is difficult and real. It touches both the young and the old, those who are working as well as those who are retired and leaves people stripped of their pride and dignity. We work diligently to provide healthy, sustainable food for our Saturday Family. Fresh produce makes a difference and brings joy as the colors pop within the carts. We’re thankful to be invited into the lives of those within our community. We are grateful that they trust us, are willing to volunteer and share their stories of hurt and joy with us”.
